Extracurricular activities

Institute for optional studies

During your studies you have to do some modules which are not part of your domain. The credits for "key and soft skills" can be gained by courses of the Institute for Optional Studies (IOS).

The IOS offers a lot of different courses. Important is to submit your application before the end of the application phase, which usually takes place some weeks before the semester start.

Summer & winter schools from IS:link

The IS:link network organizes a course of five days (Winter School for Bachelor students) and another course of nine days (Summer School for Bachelor and Master students) together with a partner university of the network every year. These courses take place at partner universities and are planned for the semester breaks.

The focus of the courses changes every year. At the end of the course it is required to take part in a final exam. So the attendees can use the course for their graduation (under reserve of the commitment of the examination office). Additionally it's a chance to find new friends. You can inform yourself about planned Summer/Winter Schools on the websites of the IS:link network.
