Publication of a paper in the new anthology “Neue Algorithmen für praktische Probleme”
We are proud to announce that the article “Rekonstruktion der US-Wahlergebnisse 2016: Modellierung und Simulation der Prognosen “(Reconstruction of the 2016 U.S. Election Results: Modeling and Simulation of the Forecasts) was published in the book “Neue Algorithmen für praktische Probleme - Variationen zu Künstlicher Intelligenz und Künstlichem Leben” byChristina Klüver and Jürgen Klüver. Lead author of this article is Alexandar Schkolski.
The 2016 U.S. presidential election attracted worldwide attention because Hilary Clinton's defeat was not expected based on the forecasts at the time. This paper is about reconstructing the forecasts using existing polling data with the Self-Enforcing Network (SEN) and thus providing an extended forecasting model to show possible reasons for the election of Donald Trump.
This anthology is about showing new algorithms from the fields of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Artificial Life (AL) and their practical applications. The essential aspect of the volume is that the contributions exemplarily show how these new algorithms can be successfully applied to practical problems in very different areas.
