Helge Schmermbeck presents conference paper at the 53rd Hawaii International Conference on Systems Science (HICSS)
The paper “Green IS Does Not Just Save Energy – Insights from a Survey on Organizations’ Uses of Sustainable Technologies” by Helge Schmermbeck, Joke Thünnesen, Natalie Voss, and Frederik Ahlemann was presented at the Hawaii International Conference on Systems Science on 08.01.2020.
In their descriptive survey Schmermbeck et al. find that many organizations already employ sustainability principles, but few incorporate Green IS. They confirm that organizations almost exclusively report positive outcomes of Green IS usage, such as reduced resource consumption, increased compliance with regulations, and social acceptance.
